The months of October to December are when the Grey Seals in Orkney have their pups and it is a real treat to be able to watch them without causing any disturbance.

Our Seal Pup walk follows a cliff top path, where we can watch all the action on the nursery beaches below us. There will be newborn pups, older pups, mums waiting to give birth, or squabbling over beach space, and maybe even some bull Grey Seals defending their territories. The pups can hugely vary in age from newborn, to having swimming lessons or fully grown and ready to moult. No matter what the weather, there is always something to see and hear.

In addition to the seals, there is a nice variety of birdlife along this stretch of coastline, and on a clear day the views of the cliffs and across the Pentland Firth are amazing.
