The 2 Bays Walk
This circular walk takes in a variety of habitats including farmland, coastal, woodland and both Orphir and Swanbister bays. There is a wealth of wildlife to see from birds to flowers and insects to mammals. Regardless of the season, there is always something interesting to see. Walk length approx. 5 miles. The terrain underfoot is a mixture of paths, tracks and quiet roads.
Orphir’s Ward Hill
A walk along the peat tracks and up to the top of Orphir’s highest point, Ward Hill. This walk takes you into the Orphir hills walking over moorland with stunning views all around on a clear day. Every season offers something different from sky-dancing Hen Harriers in the Spring to colourful wildflowers in the summer, and attractive mosses throughout the autumn and winter. Walk length 3-4 miles. Walking can be rough underfoot and wet in places, with a steep climb to the top.
It is possible to use the local bus service for these walks. Please mention at the time of booking for more information.
Please wear walking boots, bring warm waterproof clothing, a drink and enough food for a full day out.
NB It is not currently possible to share binoculars so please bring your own.
