Our island adventure starts with the ferry crossing from Stromness where we will be out on deck spotting birds and other wildlife. Once on Hoy, we will enjoy a leisurely walk to the Dwarfie Stane, where we hope to see Orkney’s only resident pair of White-Tailed Eagles. Along the way we have a good chance of seeing other raptors and other birds like Stonechats and Redpolls. We will also see a nice variety of wildflowers growing in the roadside verges.
Megan is very passionate and knowledgeable about the return of White-Tailed Eagles to Hoy, and has been a part of the RSPB Eaglewatch team since the start in 2015. She will be able to share the story of their return to Hoy with you.
