Enjoy a gentle, circular walk which can be enjoyed all year round. From the coastal path, you get nice views of Scapa Flow and its islands, whilst inland, we will visit a lovely bit of woodland.
In Spring, hear the Skylarks bursting into song, and watch out for boxing hares in the fields.
Summer brings the breeding birds back, with Curlews bubbling, the wildflowers brighten the verges, and bring the insects to life.
Autumn is a time for migrating birds, listen out for skeins of geese overhead, whilst we look for fungi in the woodland.
Scapa Flow in Winter is an important site for overwintering birds like Great Northern Divers, Slavonian Grebes and Long Tailed Ducks. Whatever the season, there’s always something to see.
