The Mull Head Wildlife walk is a circular route around a local nature reserve in the East mainland of Orkney. Our walk will include a visit to The Gloup (collapsed sea cave), views across to the Brough of Deerness and some spectacular coastal scenery with a picnic on the cliff tops.
There is a lovely variety of habitats including farmland, heath, rocky shores and cliffs which host a range of wildlife – mammals, wildflowers, insects and of course lots of birds. Breeding seabirds include Shags, Fulmars, Razorbills, Skuas, Gulls and if we are lucky we might spot some Puffins.
“Wonderful experience with a deeply knowledgeable naturalist”
“Mull Head – having our eyes opened”
This walk is an extension of the Seabirds & Wildflowers Walk and is approx. 4 miles in length which we do at a leisurely pace, allowing time to enjoy the wildlife and views.
