Evening walk at Brodgar - a wonderful experience
Megan is so knowledgeable and welcoming, she made our evening walk around the Brodgar Standing Stones a very relaxed and enjoyable one. For once we were blessed with good weather (at last!) and Megan enabled us to make the most of this by pointing out all sorts of things which I would have missed if I'd been walking alone - flowers, insects, birds, mammals, you name it, we learned about it! Enjoyable and informative way to explore Orkneys
I did the Marwick Head and Brodgar wildlife walks with Wild Orkney Walks on two consecutive nights during my week-long holiday on Orkneys. Both walks excellent - routes that are do-able without a guide but I would highly recommend Megan’s walks as she is so knowledgable and personable. I learnt a lot but more importantly had a relaxing and enjoyable time. My main motivation for both walks was to see birds but i really enjoyed the wildflower and plant life too- I’ve been much more observant since! Relaxed and enjoyable guided walk
This was a lovely relaxed evening tour in beautiful surroundings. Megan gave us a wonderful introduction to the many wildflowers we walked through, and all the birdlife we saw. Puffin Magic
My wife and I contacted Megan as we wanted to see puffins. Her knowledge of wildlife in general and puffins in particular was exemplary! We found that the itinerary that she organised to accomodate our wishes & limited schedule was fantastic. She replied to my email requesting her availability within 6 hours. Knowledge and friendly natural guide experience which improved the rest of the visit to Orkney
My wife, son, and I scheduled a bespoke walk with Wild Orkney Walks, and it was exceedingly excellent. We had issues with the ferry, and she went out of her way to reschedule our walk. On the walk, Megan shared a vast amount of knowledge about the birds, flowers, and insects we observed. An Introduction to Yesnaby, on the west side of Mainland Orkney
It was our first time on Orkney & Megan was able to give us a super introduction to the wildlife of Mainland Orkney, especially all the plants including the delightful little Scottish primrose, found only here & on a few parts of the Caithness & Sutherland coast. We also saw the Bonxie, with the white flashes in its wings, & both light & dark colour phases of the Arctic Skua, which also breeds here. A great way to spend the morning!

Not to be missed!
We stayed in Orkney for a week and did 3 guided walks with Megan. There is no doubt that the experience enhanced our visit hugely. As we were keen to visit some of the islands Megan booked the ferry and made it all hassle free. The walks were tailored to both the weather and our wishes and we strolled at a relaxed pace with lots of stops to look for wildlife and wild plants. Megan was very knowledgeable and imparted that knowledge in a friendly & engaging manner. We brought packed lunches and our lunch stops were amazing, usually in a sheltered spot on a cliff or a pebbled bay or a valley looking up at hills where eagles can be spotted hunting. We did indeed see a White tailed eagle that day. We had so many fabulous bird sightings, sea birds, waders, song birds, raptors and we were never too far away from that beautiful haunting melody of the curlew. The peace and tranquility was a boost for the mind and soul. At the end of our last day we were presented with a very comprehensive brochure of our walks and findings which is a fabulous keepsake of a very special and memorable trip. A memorable week!
Spent 3 marvellous days with Megan who highlighted so much on our scenic walks. Birdwatching was spectacular from White Tailed Eagle first day to the most beautiful close up of Short-eared Owl final day. Must have seen over 50 bird species as well as the wonderful plant life. insects and mammals. Megan was super helpful in other ways giving us tips on places to explore and dine. Walk around Ring of Brodgar
We did an evening wildlife walk around the ring of brodgar with Megan and it was magical. She was really informative about the plants, wildlife, birds and we really enjoyed slowing down and observing what was around us. Ideal way to discover nature on Orkney
We arranged a bespoke walk for 4 with Megan to discover more about Orkney’s wildlife and had an amazing walk around Yesnaby, a 10 minute drive from our hotel in Stromness. Our main interest was in the bird life (and we spotted around 20 species) but along the way we discovered so much more as Megan pointed out some of the plants and insects on our route. Megan was great company and hugely informative on all aspects of the Orcadian wildlife we encountered. Thoroughly recommended, we had a great time.
