Our Hidden Gem Short Walks take you off the beaten track to discover some fabulous wildlife and a variety of habitats. There are 2 different walks to choose from:
Orphir Bay Circular – This circular walk takes different habitats including farmland, coastal and woodland with a wealth of wildlife to see from birds to flowers and insects. Regardless of the season, there is always something interesting to see. Walk Length approx 2 miles.
Gruf Hill – This short linear walk takes us along a peat track in the Orphir hills, to the top of Gruf Hill. Along the way we will watch out for raptors, owls and smaller birds like Stonechats and Skylarks. This area is home to a wealth of wildflowers and insects, and on a clear day the views over Scapa Flow are amazing. Walk Length approx 2 miles.
It is possible to use the local bus service for both of these walks. Please mention this at the time of booking for more information.
Please wear walking boots, bring warm waterproof clothing, a drink and a snack. More information on where to meet and what to bring with you will be provided with your booking confirmation.
