The town of Stromness is a wonderful place to enjoy a walk and see lots of wildlife. Through the Stromness Saunters, I hope to show you the wildlife that you can find in and around my local patch.
The first of my saunters will take us around Stromness harbour and out to Copland’s dock. If time permits we may even venture a bit further around the coastline. We will see waders and ducks along the shoreline, birds taking shelter in the harbour and lots of wildflowers.
The walk is on a mixture of pavements and paths and would be suitable for all abilities. This walk is ideal if you are in only in Stromness for a day or visiting Orkney on a cruise ship. It is also possible to do this as an Evening walk.
